Sprawling over three floors of double fronted, feature filled heaven, this Victorian wonder packs a serious punch. Nestled between similar, rather impressive homes on the much sought after Therapia Road the house offers wonderfully spacious (and numerous) rooms, high ceilings, a quiet location, 70ft landscaped garden and an unmistakeably peaceful vibe. You're within a hop, skip and jump of Peckham Rye Common and park, One Tree Hill and Horniman Gardens and Museum. Lordship Lane is a just little further for a host of luscious treats.
Mundania, Therapia and Marmora Roads are so named in honour of the Crimean war. They're leafy, residential and populated by palatial period properties. Enter off the tree lined street to find a beautifully presented front garden with space for a few cars (the only house in the street with council approved parking don't you know!). A recessed portico hosts an original door with gorgeous stained glass. Being a double fronted house, two glorious double receptions lie either side of the hallway with scaffold floorboards, imposing fireplaces and high ceilings. One has French doors to the back garden, and sash windows remain. These rooms are deep and wide, with the kitchen diner on your right and a splendid sitting room on the left (the kitchen/diner has a drop down projector screen and surround sound for watching big movies or favourite matches!). Folding doors to the hallway from both rooms can be pushed back to create a wonderful sense of space and flow and there is wired, wireless speakers fitted in the ceiling throughout the ground floor. From the kitchen you gain access to a rather handy utility room (again with direct garden access) and a smart wet room at the very rear with its own sauna – we’re not making this up! A guest loo can be accessed via the hall.
Slink up the carpeted stairs with feature low-level lighting to find a huge family bathroom with twin basins, tub and storage then its up a few steps to the first floor where you find four superb bedrooms. All share a neutral decor, period fireplaces and sash windows - hurray! Three have fitted wardrobes, whilst the master benefits from a large walk-in wardrobe of 13ft by 4ft at its entrance. This bedroom also enjoys a large bay window and further window too along with another drop down projector with surround sound! Up to the second floor and pass bedroom five on the landing with fitted storage and an en suite shower room before reaching an amazing top floor suite. You’re spoilt with light, space, style and storage with this room, plus there is a luxury bathroom with inset tub. One could easily put in a mini kitchen up here so you need never retreat from the top floor! Extra treats throughout the house include ceiling/floor sound proofing, security cameras linked to the televisions, a recently refurbished roof, two separate boilers for heating and hot water on demand for two floors and full cable wiring installed and run to the bottom of the garden.
